“Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS) has been traditionally the South Metro Denver area’s primary Hunger Alleviation and Low-Income Assistance Provider, since 1964 with the support of community partnerships. IFCS has typically focused our services and programs to aid Western Arapahoe and Northern Douglas Counties. In response to current wide spread financial hardship and societal obstacles, IFCS is now an Emergency Food Provider for the entire Metro Denver area and entire State of Colorado. They have seen a client growth of 1600% over a similar time in 2018. They are offering weekly services through drive up and no-contact distribution of food and grocery boxes to more than 3,200 people per month. Due to economic conditions and record unemployment, food scarcity has become very real. Nearly half of the individuals, that IFCS currently serves, have never sought out a food bank or low-income assistance program prior to the pandemic.”
